Why join scouting?
Cub Scouting assists in teaching values and developing character by offering a program where boys can experience value-based activities with caring leadership and family support.

How do I sign my son up for scouting?

Will scouting fit into my family's busy schedule?
We have several scouts that participate in select baseball, soccer, football, and many other activities in addition to scouting.

What is the time commitment?
Scouting, on average, requires one hour a week.  Each den is unique and leaders handle the time commitment differently.  Scouts do not necessarily have to meet every week.

How much does scouting cost?
$35 a year (optional Boys Life Magazine subscription for $12) + uniform/material costs

How much does the uniform/materials cost?
The cost will vary but will generally run ~$50.  The cost includes a short sleeve shirt, neckerchief and slide, various patches, belts, and handbook.  Other items such as caps, shorts, and pants are optional.

Where can I buy scouting materials/uniforms?
There are scouting shops all over Houston.  The closest shop, Champions 1960 Scout Shop, is located at 6512 FM 1960 West, Houston, TX 77069.  You can contact them at (281) 444-1152.
